Kayaking returns to Lake Elizabeth for the start of it’s fourth year beginning Saturday, May 28th at 10:00am!
Lake Elizabeth will be open Thursday through Sunday each week from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Kayaking is free on Thursday and Friday and $5 per boat on Saturday and Sunday, both tandem and solo boats will be available.
The perfect kayaking destination for families, beginners or anyone nervous about getting out on the river, Lake Elizabeth is just 3 feet deep. The shallow lake offers great views of the downtown skyline in a controlled environment. Even inside the city limits paddlers often see urban wildlife with paddling the lake’s short loop.
Lake Elizabeth is located on the North Side inside Allegheny Commons, Pittsburgh’s oldest park. While you’re there visit the local attractions of Allegheny Commons including the National Aviary and Children’s Museum. Visit the Lake Elizabeth page under Locations for a map and directions.
